Lemon Butter Garlic Shrimp with Angel Hair Pasta

Buttery noodles with juicy plump shrimp and flavored with lemon and garlic that’s ready in 15 minutes and so easy. To save chopping time and because I don’t like biting into little pieces of garlic, I used garlic powder. Feel free to chop a clove or two of garlic and sautee it with the butter if you prefer cloves. The lemon adds a wonderful brightness to the dish and is a perfect compliment to shrimp. And anything tossed in butter automatically tastes great.

8 ounces angel hair pasta, cooked according to package directions (half of a 1-pound box)
1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
1 teaspoon garlic powder, or to taste
1 pound large shrimp, peeled, de-veined, and cleaned with tails off (I prefer 12-15 count shrimp)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 teaspoon lemon zest, optional
